A seminar on “Engineering Beyond Diploma: Why Higher Education Matters” was held at University of Creative Technology Chittagong (UCTC) recently, aiming to highlight the importance of higher education for diploma-level engineering students.
The seminar focused on the value of pursuing higher studies after completing a diploma, emphasising academic advancement, professional development, and broader career opportunities in the field of engineering.
Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) former Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Jamal Uddin Ahmed attended as the chief guest at the seminar presided over by UCTC Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Zahid Hossain Sharif.
UCTC Controller of Examinations Dr Mohammad Nurul Absar, Acting Principal of Chittagong Polytechnic Institute Mohammad Kamal Hossain, Vice Principal Engineer Subrata Dash, UCTC Computer Engineering department head Associate Professor Muhammad Abu Javed, Assistant Registrar SM Shahidul Alam, Marketing and Admissions Head Abhiman Ghosh Dastidar were present at the event among others.
Speakers at the seminar provided guidance on the necessity of higher education after diploma studies, career prospects in engineering, research opportunities, and global possibilities for engineers.
The guests were also briefed on UCTC’s modern academic environment, laboratory facilities, and academic management system later.
