Welcome to the department of Islamic Studies. This department was established in 2022 with a goal to preach Islam and to spread Islamic education, norms, and values in Bangladesh as well as in the whole world through its various activities, i.e. teaching, counseling, seminar-symposium, research, etc.
The department of Islamic Studies currently hosts several programs, e.g. B.A (Hons), M.A.
This reflects our continued efforts to educate and research in the field of Islamic ideology. On behalf of the department, we would like to welcome you and wish you success in your studies and a rewarding time at the department of Islamic Studies.

يقدم قسم الدراسة الإسلامية برنامج بكالوريوس (الليسانس) وماجستير (الدراسات العليا)، حيث إرتأت الجامعة الشروع بفتح هذا البرنامج تلبية لمتطلبات الحاجات البشرية للمجتمع، والذي تطمح من خلاله إلى المساهمة الفاعلة في المؤهلات العلوم الإسلامية لمختلف فنونها وشعبها علي منهاج القرآن والسنة رائدا فكريا للعصر الذهبي الإسلامي بخير القرون. واتكساب أفراد المجتمع الفهم الصحيح للإسلام عقيدة وأخلاقاً، والإلتزام بشعائره وتوجيهاته، بفكر وسطي معتدل بعيد عن الغلوّ والتشدد، تماشياً مع إطار منظومة المؤهلات الإسلامية الوطنية لجمهورية بنغلاديش تساعد كوادرة مادية وثروة إنسانية تساهم في تنمية وطنية.

প্রত্যেক মুসলমানের জ্ঞানার্জন করা ফরয। জ্ঞান-বিজ্ঞানের উৎস হল কুরআন মজীদ। আধুনিক জ্ঞান-বিজ্ঞান ও কুরআন হাকীম একই সূত্রে গাঁথা। তাই বিজ্ঞানের যতই উৎকর্ষ সাধিত হচ্ছে কুরআন মাজীদের অলৌকিকত্ব ততই বিকশিত হচ্ছে। জ্ঞান আহরণ ও বিজ্ঞান গবেষণায় কুরআন হাকীম হল পথ প্রদর্শক ও পথনির্দেশক। কুরআন মাজীদের সাথে যেটির সাংঘর্ষিক তা প্রকৃত বিজ্ঞান নয়। কুরআন হাকীমে ইল্ম বা জ্ঞান-বিজ্ঞান শব্দটি ৭৭৯ বারের বেশি ইরশাদ হয়েছে। কুরআন গবেষণায় আতœনিয়োগে উৎসাহিত করে আল্লাহ্ তা’আলা ইরশাদ করেন, তারা কি কুরআন নিয়ে চিন্তা-গবেষণা করে না? নাকি তাদের মনের দুয়ারে তালা দেয়া আছে? (সূরাহ্ মুহাম্মদ-২৪)

Why UCTC Islamic Studies Department?:

To enable the students to pursue courses in Islamic Studies as an academic discipline and as a way of life.

To prepare students so that they would adequately serve the staffing needs of schools, colleges, universities and other job fields in home and abroad.

To develop in the students the ability to understand, analyze and critically interpret the nature of religious reality as well as religious interplay in the social and cultural context of the community.

To prepare students both in character and understanding, and equip them with skill to serve in the community and larger society in various capacities.

To maintain the rigorous scholarly approach to the problem of contemporary religious communities with particular reference to Bangladesh.
