Master of Public Health (MPH) degree is recognized as most widely accepted credential in the profession of Public Health which addresses different aspects and policies related to public health, research and development in health issues and public health administration. Public Health, an important concern of today’s world, has evolved in response to universal needs of people around the world. At University of Creative Technology, Chittagong, (UCTC) we offer a 2 year program on credit based dual semester system spread over a 24 months (4 semesters) duration. The prime objective of MPH program of UCTC is to ensure the development and accomplishment of advanced public health education through most updated curriculum in practice in the country. We emphasize on involvement of students in active and direct learning to solve problems, and the acquisition of skills essential in this profession.

Course Structure

Public Health department is offering 2 years master’s degree with 80 credits which have two intakes including early in the year (January intake, Spring) and middle of the year (July intake, Autumn).

Entry requirements

Qualification for admission to the programme requires professional degree/Bachelor's degree having at least 2nd class or equivalent GPA in a health science including medical, dental, nursing, paramedics, physiotherapy, alternative medicine, public health.

Students having background in general sciences, agriculture, biomedical engineering, biological and chemical sciences studies.

Social sciences, statistics, psychology,economics, arts or engineering field of education from any recognized university will be eligible to apply

Work experience after graduation in health and nutrition related sectors are preferred.

Each course is assessed in 100 Marks with a breakdown of class tests, presentations, mid-term and final exams and viva-voce as follow:

The programme leads to a degree of Master of public health with a major of your interested field.

Work opportunities for public health professionals mirror contemporary public health challenges. Positions will therefore be found in organizations engaged in promoting population health and preventing disease, such as local and regional public health departments and authorities, ministries of health and social affairs, UN bodies and non-governmental organizations.

Public health professionals perform a wide range of tasks including surveillance and analyses of population health data, design of health promotion policy and interventions addressing social determinants and health equity, advocacy communication, and social mobilization for health.

It is saying that, a clinician can save a life but a public health professional can save millions. Public health researchers, practitioners and educators work with communities and public. Public health identifies the causes of disease, disability and implement largescale intervention for the solutions.

Department of Public Health at University of Creative Technology (UCTC) tries to address critical health challenges in the era of 21st Century. Myself and our experienced faculty members are passionate about teaching and research on most challenging and critical health issues at this time like, communicable & non-communicable diseases, health policy & management, occupational & environmental health, reproductive & child health.

We are enthusiastic and committed to create innovative public health leaders and solutions for existing health problems through practical and research-based education. Moreover, our department is dedicated to provide quality education through training, workshop and advocacy.
